Abstract

De forma a explorar os negócios de alto crescimento analisam-se duas publicações diferentes. Nesta investigação foram usados dados do GEM de forma a concluir sobre os determinantes da iniciativa para gerir ou criar um negócio de alto crescimento. Foram usadas técnicas de estatística multivariada, em particular analise de regressão linear múltipla, analise de clusters e análise discriminante. Os resultados mostram que estas empresas são criadas por indivíduos que reagem rapidamente às oportunidades; são mais pequenas e mais jovens e beneficiam de recursos e políticas públicas favoráveis, além de ser influenciadas pela cultura nacional. 

In order to explore high growth business, two different publications are analysed. Data from GEM was used to conclude on the determinants on the initiative to manage or create a high growth business. Multivariate analysis techniques were used, in particular multiple linear regression analysis, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. The results show that are growing business are: created by individuals who react quickly to opportunities; smaller and younger firms; enjoy from resources and public policies; and are influenced by the national culture.
