El registro coloquial en la enseñanza de la lengua materna

La variedad lingüística coloquial ha recibido tradicionalmente escasa atención en la enseñanza obligatoria, dado que se prefiere el desarrollo de los usos formales. Los docentes, guiados acaso por el tradicional prestigio de que gozan las modalidades más formales o por la creencia de que la forma espontánea de usar la lengua es incorrecta, pobre, jergal, e incluso, vulgar, dedican poca atención a la forma de hablar habitual en los alumnos. En las páginas que siguen delimitaré, en primer lugar, el registro coloquial, aportando los rasgos pragmáticos y lingüísticos básicos que permitan identificarlo, con la finalidad de aportar la base conceptual mínima que sirva de apoyo al trabajo de aula. En la segunda parte, abordaré la didáctica de esta modalidad lingüística.
