Authorship and contributions policy
The Revista de Lenguas para Fines Específicos (LFE) establishes the following criteria to determine authorship and ensure proper acknowledgment of contributions in any work submitted for publication:
- Authorship criteria
An individual is considered an author if they have made substantial contributions to:
- The conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- The drafting of the manuscript or critical revision with significant intellectual input.
- The final approval of the version to be published.
- Accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring that any issues related to accuracy or integrity are appropriately addressed.
Note: The inclusion of individuals who do not meet these criteria (honorary, courtesy, or institutional authorship) is not acceptable.
- Number and order of authors
- The number of authors should be consistent with the nature and scope of the work.
- The order of authorship must reflect the relative contribution of each author and should be agreed upon by all contributors before submission.
- Individual contributions
Authors are encouraged to specify their individual contributions using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) system, indicating roles such as (see submission template space for this):
- Conceptualization
- Methodology
- Software
- Validation
- Writing – original draft
- Writing – review & editing
- Changes in authorship
Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors must:
- Be formally justified in writing.
- Include written consent from all authors involved.
- Be reviewed by the editorial team before the manuscript is accepted for publication.
- Non-author contributions
Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria (e.g., technical support, funding acquisition, language review) should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, with their explicit consent.
- Ethical responsibility
The corresponding author is responsible for:
- Ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
- Confirming that good publication and authorship practices have been followed.
Funding Policy
Research Funding Policy
The Revista de Lenguas para Fines Específicos (LFE) requires all authors to disclose any financial support received for the research presented. This information must appear in a separate section at the end of the manuscript under the heading "Funding", before the references.
Declarations must include:
- Full name of the funding agency.
- Project reference number (if applicable).
- Project or program title (if relevant).
If the article did not receive external funding, authors must explicitly state:
This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.
Transparency in funding enhances academic integrity, prevents conflicts of interest, and acknowledges the role of funding bodies in supporting scholarly research.
