Funding Source Statement

Authors should identify the sources of financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article or note. The statement of funding sources is an acknowledgement of donor contributions, complies with subsequent funding requirements, and promotes greater transparency in the research process. Such information includes the following:

  1. Name of the funding entity.
  2. Funding identification number or reference number of the research project being funded.
  3. Name of the project if applicable.
  4. Brief description of the role played by the funding entity in the research (design and participation in some phase of the research, analysis, writing, review, decision to submit the article for publication...). If the funding source(s) had no such involvement, then this should be stated.

The above information must be included totally or partially in:

  1. The cover letter: this document should reflect all the information mentioned above.
  2. The metadata: when entering the metadata of the article or note, the funding agency should be included in the Supporting Agencies section.
  3. The article or note: the sources of funding should be stated in the Acknowledgements, located at the end of the paper, indicating at least the name of the funding agency, the name of the research project and the grant agreement number.
