Constructions of verbs belonging to the same semantic class
Keywords:
preposition, competition, change, near meaning, infinitive complementAbstract
The constructions of the object complement of classical French experience in contemporary French a notable standardization through the fixation of several verbs in a single scheme. As for example, the competition between the constructs of the verb enseigner (enseigner à Inf/de Inf) which is reduced in the diagram à Inf. Most of the competing XVIIth century schemes are considered optional variants, largely equivalent, and are far from constructing a differential interpretation of the minutes.
The absence of semantic distinction and the tendency of verbs to fix themselves in the diagram of verbs of close sense favors the reduction of several concurrences.
