Philologica Canariensia (eISSN: 2386-8635) is an open-access scholarly journal published once a year by the Faculty of Philology, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The journal was first published in 1994 and currently accepts articles, notes, and book reviews in Spanish, English, and French. Its main objective is to disseminate research papers in the areas of Linguistics and Literature from a range of perspectives by providing an platform for national and international scholars and researchers to be able to engage in contemporary academic discussion in the field of Philology. The journal’s scope includes the following areas of interest: Language (Spanish, English, French, Latin, and Classical Greek); Linguistics; Literary Theory; Literary Criticism of a wide variety of authors in Spanish, English, and French, as well as Classical Greek and Latin authors.
Philolologica Canariensia is especially aimed at lecturers, philologists, PhD students, and readers with an academic background or an interest in the aforementioned areas. All articles undergo double-blind peer review by Spanish and foreign experts, which ensures the quality of the research published in the journal.
Philologica Canariensia holds the Seal of Editorial and Scientific Excellence awarded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology. The journal is indexed and abstracted in, among other databases: Scopus, ESCI - Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science), SJR - Scimago Journal & Country Rank, ERIH PLUS, DOAJ, EBSCO, MLA, Latindex, Dialnet, and MIAR.
